Those who have made the choice not to live with contaminated air need a way to get their air cleaner. There is a choice between two types of air purifiers. There are the filterless air purifiers and the ones that require a filter to work.
An air cleaner that has a filter sucks in air and then traps the dust and dirt by using one or more filters. This cleans that air of allergens that make allergies worse. They are going to need to be changed or they are not going to work.
Another option that is much more cost effective is an air purifier that does not require a filter. Instead, they use other methods for collecting the dust and allergen particles. This is called an ionic process.
When the particles are hit with a charge of ionic energy, they get very heavy and drop to the ground. Some are going to collect these particles in the unit. Others are going to require more cleaning in order to remove these particles permanently.
If the unit has an internal filter system that has panels that collect the charged particles, then it is going to need to be cleaned frequently. This is going to keep the unit working properly. It is also going to keep the unit quieter as well.
Those who prefer to bypass all the cleaning and simply change out the filters, then a unit that uses one would be preferred. If this is not an issue, and saving money is preferable, then a filterless air purifier is going to be the right choice. When you do not have to change out the filters, you are never going to have to worry about having plenty of filters on hand at all times.
